Why do we not baptise babies at New Life?

We believe that the prevailing pattern in the New Testament is that an individual was baptised after becoming a Christian, it is an expression of a personal experience.

What is thanksgiving or dedication?

In New Life we want to celebrate the gift of life from God and so instead of baptising infants we have a time of thanksgiving or dedication during a morning celebration.

In this short time we do three things; we join with the parents in thanking God for the gift of the child, we ask for God to bless the child and finally there is a committing. The parents commit to bring the child up in an environment of Christian love and peace, the prayer parents commit to regularly praying for the child and finally the wider church commit to praying for, supporting and loving the family.
